MABE FRATTI
+ TOMO KATSURADA

Doors open at 7 pm, concert starts at 8 pm

Mabe Fratti’s work has always been characterized by a finely tuned sense of drama, capable of expressing a variety of emotional states. An air of destiny hangs over Sentir Que No Sabes, Mabe Fratti’s fourth solo album in five years. On this new album, she conveys the inner struggle to come to terms with various relationships or situations – and the resulting actions. Sentir Que No Sabes is urgent and clear, catchy, generous and accessible, and at the same time an expression of considerable emotional depth. It is also – as Fratti herself emphasizes – “groovy”.

The album was created in close collaboration with her partner, multi-instrumentalist and co-composer Héctor Tosta (I.La Católica, Titanic). Sentir Que No Sabes is the result of an intensive, detail-oriented process. Bolstered by the newfound confidence from their joint project Titanic and its critically acclaimed album Vidrio (2023), the two retreated to the familiar surroundings of their studio – Tinho Studios – to explore the sonic coordinates of the new album. “We talked for hours, discussing how we wanted to play and record – until it all became inevitable,” explains Fratti. “We recorded a lot of demos in our home studio, which gave us a lot of time to rework and experiment. We got really deep into it. We were extremely focused on details.” Tosta also took on the role of producer and main arranger for all additional instruments. The final production took place at Willem Twee Studios in Den Bosch (Netherlands) and at the Pedro y el Lobo and Soy Sauce studios in Mexico City.

So what is Sentir Que No Sabes? Glossy pastoralism? The sound of an urban, post-postmodern landscape of the soul? Regardless of the emotions triggered, it is the work of an artist who finds herself – and creates a reference work.

Tomo Katsurada is a Japanese artist currently based in Amsterdam, best known as the founder and lead singer of the acclaimed psychedelic band Kikagaku Moyo. During his time with the band, Tomo not only worked as a composer but was also responsible for the overall artistic direction – he was instrumental in shaping the group’s distinctive sound and aesthetic.

Tomo is now embarking on a solo journey in which he is exploring new artistic territories. The focus is on combining his musical compositions with various visual media. His solo debut album marks the start of an ambitious project – a long-cherished dream: composing soundtracks for picture books. The album is the first of a total of five planned works, each dedicated to a picture book. Tomo’s aim is to explore the boundaries of physical media in a new way by merging music and visual storytelling.

With his unique, multi-instrumental sound textures, Tomo opens up a wide sound spectrum full of playfulness and spirituality. His work invites you on an immersive journey where sound and image combine to create a truly transcendent experience.
