ETRAN DE L’AÏR

On Saturday, the eagerly awaited summer party took place at the Bennigsen estate, and it was a complete success. The highlight of the evening was undoubtedly the concert by the internationally acclaimed band Etran de L’Aïr from Agadez, the capital of the Saharawi region.

From the moment they entered, the guests streamed into the festively decorated sheepfold, and the atmosphere was characterized by anticipation and high spirits right from the start. Etran de L’Aïr took to the stage and thrilled the audience with their energetic guitar riffs and unmistakable joie de vivre. The music of the family band, which has existed since 1995, filled the room and swept the audience away from the very first notes.

Amanda Petrusich from The New Yorker aptly described the band’s music as the perfect soundtrack for the feeling of being outside, among friends and simply happy. This description came to life on Saturday evening as the guests danced exuberantly and enjoyed the summer atmosphere. The melodies of Etran de L’Aïr, which captured the exuberance of a Tuareg wedding, provided unforgettable moments.

A special highlight of the evening was the free beer from the Maschsee Brewery, which was served with every ticket. The cool beer was much appreciated by the guests and contributed to the cheerful atmosphere. Pasta Royal once again took care of the physical well-being with their food truck full of Italian delicacies. The combination of excellent music, delicious beer, tasty food and the idyllic surroundings of the estate made the evening a unique experience.

Etran de L’Aïr has now played almost everywhere in her home town of Agadez. Now it’s time to bring their pan-African style to the world. After their first tour in Europe at the beginning of 2022, the family band is visiting Europe again this year, so we were delighted to be able to celebrate with them at Gut Bennigsen.
