NOBODY KNOWS
The event “Nobody Knows” offered an atmospherically rich, immersive experience in the concert barn of Gut Bennigsen. The audience initially gathered outdoors before being guided through the entrance gate and behind a large black curtain into the barn. The space was specifically designed with square seating arranged around a central stage, enhancing the intimate and focused atmosphere.
The outstanding lighting design highlighted the dramatic moments of the piece, which unfolded over three sections. The performance featured complex choreography, evocative music, and a symbolic conclusion in which the ensemble assembled a painting signed “NOBODY KNOWS.” The dense acoustics and subtle lighting created a haunting ambiance, with nearly sold-out performances on both evenings.
Robert Robinson comments on the piece:
“With my work ‘Nobody Knows,’ I’ll explore human connections, dedicated to those navigating change. Amidst personal change, fear, and doubt emerge, yet I feel a powerful bond, a reminder that I’m not alone. ‘Nobody Knows’ is a collective journey through the unknown. The central theme involves confronting fear directly with the mantra ‘nobody knows: don’t worry,’ affirming trust in the process. Through choreography, I acknowledge the inevitability of change, portraying universal anxiety in transformations.
This piece aims to inspire a profound sense of community, fostering support. ‘Nobody Knows’ encourages everyone to release worry, recognizing the unknown conclusion. It testifies to the strength in unity and shared experiences, highlighting that, in our pursuit, we stand together, connected through change.”
