This year, Gut Bennigsen once again shone in festive splendor as the 41st Christmas Market of the Bennigsen Community Association e.V. opened its doors. Just in time for the opening, the rain stopped, and the weather held up throughout the entire weekend. Many dear people gathered to celebrate and enjoy together – more than 7,000 attended this time.

In the composition Waves, I attempt to expand the listener’s experience of time and space by introducing the dimension of “temporal memory.” Spatially arranged, ambiguously located sounds and extremely elongated sections dissolve conventional spatial perception, heightening awareness of a new, individual plane of space and time. It is an auditory journey into hidden worlds, revealed through our senses and imagination.

Who is this mysterious group of people who lead their hermit-like lives behind the walls of the venerable Bennigsen manor? Passers-by report eerie sounds and ringing, some say they have heard sound waves coming from the earth. Now the secret seems to be revealed. Crumpled, hand-written notes circulating in the surrounding area invite you to come in.

The English choreographer Robert Robinson explores and examines familial dynamics within the artistic collective. His dance companions are creative fellow travelers on long, open paths that lead into the unknown.

For this year’s “Open Monument Day®” on Sunday, September 8th, the brick barn was opened and available for a short tour. Free guided tours were offered by the Wunder architectural office at 11:30 am, 1:30 pm and 3:30 pm.

The Mingus Project is a band organized and led by Jorik Bergman. They perform “The Black Saint and the Sinner Lady,” a 40-minute suite by Charles Mingus, along with new arrangements of pieces by Charles Mingus. Their program debuted at the 11th edition of the Weekend Festival in Cologne.

Ghanaian artist Alogte Oho’s career is now taking him all over Europe. But that wasn’t always the case. At first, his career progressed in small steps, until a drastic experience changed his life. This resulted in his first hit “Mam Yinne Wa” (God, you love me so) and made Alogte Oho a top frafra gospel artist overnight.

“If we are invited, we come and play,” says Abindi, a member of the Tuareg music group Etran de L’Aïr . Accordingly, the renowned band accepted our invitation to come to Germany to present their unique mix of a variety of traditional sounds and contemporary music and to celebrate with us.

Bombino is an outstanding Nigerian musician who fuses traditional Tuareg sounds with blues and rock. His captivating rhythms and powerful guitar riffs have earned him worldwide recognition, making him the first Grammy nominee from his country. After his world tour, he now performs at the Bennigsen estate.

The Finnish band Maustetytöt, consisting of sisters Kaisa and Anna Karjalainen, captivates audiences with catchy melodies and lyrical lyrics. With over 10 million streams and three bestselling albums, they have established themselves as one of Finland’s most popular bands. They gained international recognition through collaborations with “Agents” and Aki Kaurismäki. “Impossibly cool”, writes the New York Times.
